The Death of a SnakeThe Death of a SnakeThe Death of a Snake
The serpent has been killed
No more will its unblinking eyes stare into my very soul Judging me Making me feel worthless in this world Nor will its forked tongue terrify me any longer Tasting and feeding on the fear only I seemingly posses
Now there is birdsong and music Not the ominous rattle that became a death knell Singling my demise
No more shall this steely beast slither amongst the shadows Hidden from the view of many Sneaking upon me unnoticed and attacking without warning
It used to leave me paralysed

What You Dont UnderstandWhat You Don’t UnderstandWhat You Dont Understand
What do you see that I don’t? Standing tall on that mountain peak You seemingly so easily climbed You left me at the bottom Scrambling at the rocks With serpents circling all around me Ready to tempt me away from the deceptive paradise We have found together
Their forked tongues dripping poison words Doubts which take root Growing apple trees Till nearly an orchid has seeded itself in my mind
You don’t see this struggle though So far away on that solid ground are you Your way seems so clear
All

Inside the VoidInside the VoidInside the Void
There is no colour to my life It faded the night I left you Now just a sepia blur- which I am detached from The world moves on at a rapid pace But I stand still I stand alone
A stranger in my own life With loneliness’ and uncertainty my only friends
The sweet warmth of your arms around me Would guide me back from this abyss I have entered Fill the void of emptiness inside But that is impossible The distance mocks me even now Testing me Testing us It’s pushed me past that line I didn’t want to cross

Early HoursEarly HoursEarly Hours
In the stillness of the early hours When the entire world was sleeping- except me The shallow rhythm of your breath reassured me A melodic lullaby in its own way The shape of your body in the dim light
Comforted me -made me safe
For all the dreams of travelling I may have had To distant and exotic shores There was no other place I wished to be
Except next to you
Enjoying the loving warmth of the bed we shared No paradise could tempt me from there For I had already found mine
It was lying next to you
You will
